Isole e Olena’s Cabernet Sauvignon has a profound and intriguing soul and yet is also charged with Chianti Classico vitality. Produced in small qualities, the grapes used for this wine grow on vines that are more than twenty years old.
Deep ruby in the glass, it reveals a broad, fruity and spicy olfactory picture on the finish. On the palate it proves incredibly enveloping, elegant with persistent and long tannins. It matures in barriques for 1 year, of which one third new, one third second-passage, one third third-passage, and ages for about 2 years in bottle.
Why we like it
VINTAGE 2020 commenced with a mild, dry winter. Temperatures dropped significantly in March and care was needed in the vineyard to prevent frost damage to the vines. Summer was dry and mild with the steady weather conditions until the end of August, when the region saw some bouts of rainfall. However, the weather calmed during September and the 2020 harvest gave excellent results both in terms of quality and quantity. We started picking mid month.
